Some friends and I went to the Jim Corbett tiger reserve for a vacation. I did not hold much hope of seeing a tiger but the idea was to get the feel of the jungle. Everything else was a bonus.
We stayed at a fantastic resort called The Homestead. It is a big place but the owners (Anil and Amu Puri) are hands on and a significant portion of the charm is interacting with them. The resort has something for everyone from hammocks, to swings, treehouses, gymnasiums, all-terrain vehicles and plenty of greenery.
Everything is produced in house. When we went, a set of swings was under construction. The workshop is a fascinating place with all kinds of equipment including welding transformers. There is a custom built motor home too.
The danger at the Homestead is that you can come to believe that you are in a ferry palace. You can have almost anything whether it is a USB cable or a customized food menu.
Please see some photographs below of parts of the Homestead.
